Friday, May 9 2008 "A" Day

- Football Spring Training:  Starts Tuesday, May 13th. Varsity has mandatory weight lifting at 2:30. All Frosh /Soph practices start at 3:

- Interested in Hosting a Foreign Exchange Student?  Edu-Culture International is looking for local families interested in welcoming
an English speaking high school student from France, Germany, or Spain to their home for 2-4 weeks this summer.  Get the chance
to befriend a student from another country, while he or she gets the chance to be immersed in our own culture and language.  If you
think your family would be interested, contact Lisa via email to educulture.lisa@gmail.com or telephone 395-2414. (Mr. Kolda)

- Grad Nite is only a month away - Thursday, June 12th from 10:00 pm -4:00 am. Tickets are now $130 and there are only 56 spaces
left on the boat. Payment is due by May 23rd. Flyers are available in the front office or check out the Grad Nite table in the quad at
lunch today. (Mr. Kolda)

- Graduation Speakers: If you are interested in participating as a guest speaker at this year’s graduation, please sign up with Mr.
Duron in the Counseling Center by Friday May 16th. We will be having our first meeting Wednesday May 21st. (Mr. Duron)

- Westmont's Advanced Drama class presents The Grapes of Wrath - May
9 and 10th at 7:30 pm: Juniors can get a coupon to see the show for
only $3. (Mr. Bengford)

- Senior Wills due May 12: Will you or will you not? Don't forget to
complete your Will. You can pick up a copy of the Last Will and
Testament form in Room 58. Wills will run in the last issue of The
Shield. (Mr. Evans)

- The last day to buy prom tickets is May 14th.

- CCOE Summer School Deadline June 6: The Central County Occupational
Center is offering 5 unit summer classes in the following areas:
Animation, Auto Paint, Transmissions, Baking/Catering, CAD,
Forensics, Law Academy, Metal Tech, Medical Office, Office Assistant,
Video Production, Web Page Design. Interested students should contact
their Guidance Advisor.

- Teen & Family Counseling Center – Summer Session: Low-fee
confidential/individual counseling sessions are available for all
ages at the Campbell Community Clinic. Specialties include teen and
family issues; alcohol and drug related issues. Contact (408) 370-
9990 or visit www.teenfamilycounseling.org.

- Represent Campbell Union High School District by Serving on the
Board: Applications are available from Mr. Kolda in the activities
office. The district is looking for two students to serve as Student
Advisory Board Member. The students who are selected would attend
the Board meetings from September through June of next year.


FRIDAY, MAY 9
- Summer School Registration Deadline is today. Turn forms into the
counselors in Student Services attendance office or the main
office.

- Anime Club: Meet at lunch in room 34. (Ms. Cruze)

- Westmont Cafeteria Serving BBQ: Today and Monday. The cost is $3.00
which includes a ¼ lb burger or hot dog, chips and bottled water.
Tickets will be sold during breakfast, brunch (if you have it) and
lunch plus free/reduced kids will also receive tickets as well. Same
price for teachers and faculty. (Mr. Kolda)

- Juniors Get Ready for Senior Pictures: Pro Image Studios will be
on campus today at lunch with information on senior portraits for
class of 2009. (Mr. Kolda)

- JV Softball at Santa Teresa 3:30

- Varsity Softball at Westmont 3:30

- Frosh/Soph Baseball at Westmont 3:30

- Varsity Baseball at Leigh 3:30
